Recipes
As the weather starts to turn each year from season to season, it never fails that my tastebuds follow suit.
Where I live in Nebraska, we are going to see 80 degrees…in February. That is almost unheard of this time of year (of course it will be in the 30-degree range a couple days later).
Regardless, when I see 80 degrees, I think light and crunchy salads with a ton of flavor. One of my go-to salads is our Classic Shrimp Louie Salad.
This salad is filled with fresh ingredients that bring so much texture to the salad. The best part is that the dressing is made with ingredients that you likely already have in your home kitchen!
I just love how my salads look in these amazing mixing bowls. They are just so colorful and all the great colors from the veggies just pop in these bowls.
Remember to look for clever ingredient swaps and FAQs on more and more recipes every week!

Reviews
If your home kitchen is like my home kitchen, you are still using mixing bowls from the 1990s (or maybe earlier!).
Enough is enough! When we finally decided to replace our long-standing mixing bowls we felt it was a waste of money because the bowls we had did the mixing just fine.
I will tell you getting a fresh set of mixing bowls sometimes feels like a new car. Sure, your old car could get you from point A to point B, but it sure feels better with that new car smell.
There’s good news and bad news. Bad news is that new mixing bowls don’t have the new car smell. The good news is that they are a heckuva lot cheaper! Check out our mixing bowl reviews today.
Responsibility
In our article on reducing single-use plastics, we note that it is estimated that half of all plastic produced annually is meant for single-use. That is a startling statistic that can be improved if all of us attempt to reduce our use of these types of plastics.
One area we are focusing in our home kitchen is stopping the use of paper plates and plastic utensils. We got used to these because they are so easy. However, they are so harmful for the environment.
Take a look at your single-use plastics and try to find where you can cut back and improve the environment from your home kitchen.
Foodness Fun - Poll Results
We asked our Foodness Followers last week if they prefer Oatmeal Raisin Cookies or Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. This was a hotly contested poll with A LOT of comments. In fact, over 80% of the comments came from passionate fans of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Raisins in cookies = NO
However…….the winner of the poll with 53% of the vote was……..

Love the taste of oatmeal and the sweetness of raisins!
Chocolate chips are overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I do like chocolate. However, let raisins be the star in Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!
Foodness Facts - Did You Know?
