Poll Results - Should we put beans in our chili?
It was highly entertaining seeing the results of the the poll from last week that started with my family’s debate about chili.
To Bean or Not To Bean…..that was the question!

62% of our responders say it just isn’t chili without beans!

It was a close one and there were some really funny comments submitted, so I just had to share some of my favorites.
Seasoned beans are the best part!
I prefer a quiet night at home, so I’ll leave the musical fruit out of my chili.
I know this opinion will be the minority, but a wise person once said, “For beans I do not care, as I value the quality of air.”
Recipes
My wife absolutely loves artichokes and this is one of her favorite recipes. She steers clear of gluten, and using gluten-free pasta was still an amazing pasta recipe for our whole family.
Check out our Easy One Dish Artichoke Pasta. It is less than a dozen ingredients and is really quite easy to prepare.
Leftovers are great too because we just top the 9×13 with its lid and it’s ready to reheat the next day.
Remember to look for clever ingredient swaps and FAQs on more and more recipes every week!
Reviews
When it came to chopping, I used to focus on two options:
A cutting board and a knife
Using a blender
I have since learned that a food processor can be a home chef’s best friend! The ease of use, efficiency and quick cleaning options make a food processor something everyone should consider for their kitchen.
Check out our food processor reviews and add this to your home kitchen arsenal!
Responsibility
If you’re like me and see a “sell-by” date that is coming up soon, you might also hesitate on whether the product should be purchased or not.
It was interesting to learn that “sell-by” dates don’t actually mean you should hesitate. This date is more for the store management and how they manage their inventory more than anything about the quality of the product.
Learn more about food labels in our Responsibility article Understanding Food Labels: "Best Before," "Use By," and "Sell By" Dates.
Foodness Fun!
Mexican food is a standard weekly item in our house. It’s so versatile and makes everyone happy. Tacos, nachos, salads…you can do so many things with it and it’s great for meat lovers and those who prefer meatless.
One ingredient that isn’t as consistently loved when it comes to our Mexican flavors is a strong-flavored ingredient - cilantro.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts…
